Halloween is bringing out some extra creativity at HeARTspot, where young artists will have a new opportunity to put their work on display as part of the 10th Annual Art of Darkness.
For the first time, the annual event will feature a Kids’ Art Exhibition, inviting young artists in grades 1–8 to submit an original Halloween, spooky, dark or fantasy-inspired work of art.
The exhibition is open to all young artists, whether they have taken classes at HeARTspot or not.
Participation is free, with one piece permitted per artist. Both 2D artwork and small 3D pieces are welcome, and young artists may offer their work for sale with no gallery commission.
Artwork drop-off at The HeARTspot Art Venter and Gallery, located at 1970 Pawtucket Avenue in East Providence, RI beginning Saturday, October 3, followed by October 10th & 17th with space limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Prior to dropping of artwork after October 3rd, be sure to first check HeARTspot’s social media. Space is limited. If the exhibition fills before October 17, we will post that the call is CLOSED and will no longer be able to accept additional artwork.
Then, on Saturday, November 7, from 2–4 PM, young artists and their families are invited to stop by and see the exhibition. Costumes are welcome!
The Kids’ Art Exhibition adds another fun dimension to Art of Darkness while giving young artists a chance to share their creativity with the community.
Parents should review the complete Call for Kids’ Art before submitting artwork. Full details, including submission guidelines, size requirements, designated drop-off dates, pickup information and everything else families need to know, are available on the HeARTspot website.
