On Sunday, January 12th, the East Providence based band Rumford Junction, held an eventful album release show at Myrtle RI to a packed and enthusiastic audience
The band performed songs from their debut album, Tributaries that features nine well-crafted original tracks that was digitally released in the fall of 2024. The two-set performance also included several Rumford Junction’s signature covers by Bob Dylan, The Band and other folk/rock Americana artists.
The Sunday matinee show opened with an impressive semi-acoustic performance by singer-songwriter Crystal (CRYS for short). The original set of folk-country-honky-tonk featured CRY’s rich vocals and impressive guitar and banjo playing.

The supportive crowd at the album release party was a mix of fans, family, friends and many regional artists that included members of the Red Bridge Band, Sinner’s Pie, The Whelks and Almost Gone.
East Providence Mayor, Bob DaSilva was in attendance showing his support for Rumford Junction’s album debut. Capturing the event was concert photographer Kerry Quinn of RILiveMusic / Kerry Quinn Photography. Images from the show can be found at this link facebook/kerryquinnphotography
The five-piece band made up of Tim Messitt (guitar, vocals), Ed Synan (guitar, vocals), Lisa Gallant (accordion, fiddle, vocals), John Popoli (drums) and John DeMaria (bass) put on an amazing show. The mix was perfect, the vocals sweet and the band was as tight as can be. From the upbeat dance number “I Don’t Know” to the reflective ballad “Boy and a Girl in the Summertime”, the band’s debut Tributaries album translated well in a live setting.
Tributaries CDs were available for sale during the event with the digital version available on popular streaming platforms including Spotify (linked here). Take a listen, you won’t be disappointed.
