Let the Feasts Begin: East Providence’s 2026 Portuguese Feast Season Is Here!

Let the feasts begin!

At EastProv Hospitality — like so many within our community — this stretch of the year is one we genuinely look forward to as the warm weather returns. It’s when East Providence naturally shifts into celebration mode, and weekends become more than weekends. They become shared moments of Portuguese culture, family tradition, and pride among those who grew up within it and those who continue to carry it forward across generations and neighborhoods.

From late May through mid-summer, the city comes alive with a rare concentration of Portuguese feasts spanning nearly two months, each hosted by a different church, brotherhood, or cultural club. Together, they create a season where heritage meets hospitality in its most authentic form — with Portuguese marching bands in the streets, crown processions and religious ceremonies rooted in centuries-old tradition, and live music and folkloric dancing carrying from afternoon into night. Massive outdoor food tents serve up chouriço, bifanas, cacoila, malasadas, and sweet bread, while beer tents and late-night dancing keep the energy going well after sunset.

It’s a season defined by connection — to culture, to community, and to each other.

Below, you’ll find the full 2026 East Providence Portuguese Feast schedule.

EastProv Hospitality hopes to see you at one or more of these special gatherings throughout the summer.
