EastProv Hospitality recently had the opportunity to spend time with Joe Dourado to get a first look at what visitors can expect when Joe’s Clam Shack opens at Crescent Park later this month.
If you’ve been wondering what will be on the menu, the answer is simple: a little bit of everything that makes a summer day at Crescent Park complete.
Joe’s Clam Shack aims to honor the area’s rich bayside tradition while offering a menu built for today’s families, seafood lovers, and visitors looking for a classic Rhode Island experience.
Guests can look forward to New England favorites including clam cakes and chowder (both red and white), along with hot dogs, burgers, fries, fried dough, and other amusement park classics that feel right at home beside the historic carousel.
Seafood enthusiasts will have plenty to celebrate as well. Beyond clam cakes and chowder, the menu will feature fish and chips, calamari, and lobster rolls served both hot and cold. As a fan of the Connecticut-style lobster roll served warm with butter, this writer was especially excited to learn that this option will be available.
As a father himself, Joe understands that families are looking for more than just good food—they’re looking for value. That’s why Joe’s Clam Shack will offer affordable meal options designed to make a day at Crescent Park enjoyable for everyone. Among the offerings will be a $5 value menu along with other meal deals featuring burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, fries, and more.
And for those with a sweet tooth, Joe has that covered too. Guests can indulge in his famous fried Oreos and freshly made fried dough, that perfectly complement a summer afternoon at the park.
Born and raised in East Providence, Joe brings years of food service experience to the venture. From his first restaurant job at Miller’s Famous Roast Beef in East Providence to operating the successful Joe’s Snack Shack mobile food business at fairs, festivals, and special events throughout the region, he has learned firsthand what customers want: quality food, fair prices, and friendly service from people who genuinely enjoy what they do.
Joe’s Clam Shack plans to operate Thursday through Sunday, perfectly complementing Crescent Park’s busiest days. The schedule aligns with the popular Thursday night Concerts in the Park series, weekend carousel operations, family outings, waterfront walks, and the longstanding Rhode Island tradition of Friday seafood dinners.
The City of East Providence in collaboration with Joe’s Clam Shack are excited to announce that the Crescent Park Clam Shack will officially be hosting their grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 12:00PM!
