It’s A Renovation Celebration @ The 133 Club

There’s been a lot of buzz about what’s going on at The 133 Club located at 29 Warren Avenue in East Providence, RI. Being located about as close as you can get to the East Providence side of the Washington bridge fiasco one could think of all kinds of possibilities.

The truth is the popular restaurant pub is thriving and has spent the past several weeks expanding and renovating the interior layout to better accommodate their live band schedule that features seven bands in six days, Tuesday through Sunday.

Interior renovations include taking down a dividing wall that turns two good size rooms into one open room that flows into each other and eliminates much of the stage obstruction view. The bar has been expanded in size by at least 33% offering more seating and bar service into the former pool table room.

Many nice touches have been added within the interior including deepening the stage area and the addition of vertical windows adding to the ambience and creating an inviting appearance from the outside street view.

A great addition to the expansion is the new outside deck for Al Fresco seating and dining that also doubles as an outdoor stage when The 133 Club offers live open-air entertainment on select days and evenings. The first of which is happening this Sunday, June 23rd when New England’s premier classic rock band Back In The Day becomes the first band to perform on the new outdoor stage as part of The 133 Club’s Renovation Celebration.

The Renovation Celebration kicks off at 4:00pm with the popular 133 Club Sunday Blues & Jazz Music Series. The weekly series at The 133 Club attracts some of the best musicians performing within the jazz & blues scene today. The series is hosted by the Dave Richardson Band featuring Jan Schmidt.

At 7:00pm the always entertaining and extremely talented Providence Drum Troupe will pay a visit to The 133 Club to join in the Renovation Celebration festivities. Born from the Pandemic, the Providence Drum Troupe is made up of musicians, acrobats, flow arts, life-size alien puppets, hoopers, lasers and dancers from near and far who create funky beats with positive interactive energy!

And as previously mentioned, Back In The Day will break in the new outdoor stage at 7:30pm, performing all your classic rock favorites from the 70’s 80’s & 90’s! Back In The Day performs each and every song with precision both musically and vocally. Simply the best at what they do!
