The City of East Providence will gather with local leaders to host a naming dedication ceremony for the basketball courts at the newly renovated Kent Heights Park in honor of the late Vincent “Vinny” Spremulli. Spremulli was a 1964 graduate of East Providence High School and a Special Education Teacher for 35 years.
Spremulli’s impact on the East Providence community still resonates to this day through his decades of work as a middle and high school basketball coach, his roles as the director of the East Providence Central Little League and Saint Martha’s CYO basketball, as well as his years of work as the assistant director at Camp Ruggles, a camp for children with emotional and behavioral disabilities. “Coach Vin”, as he was endearingly remembered, was a legendary youth coach, mentor, volunteer and extraordinary father, husband and grandfather.
