Comedian Matt Rife will make a special two show appearance at the Comedy Connection in East Providence, RI on Wednesday, December 18th to host a Holiday Toy Drive! The shows were announced on Thursday, December 12th and sold out in minutes.
Riffe, who recently purchased a home in North Smithfield, RI, has cemented himself as one of the biggest stand ups in the world through his top performing Netflix special and his remarkable engagement on social media with 39.4 million followers, and more than 3 billion viewers globally. His most recent tour sold over 600,000 tickets in under 48 hours, to become one of the largest comedy tours in over 20 years. He joined Taylor Swift as the only other live act to break Ticketmaster’s website due to demand.
In August of this year, the 28-year-old comedian told the podcast, “Are You Garbage?” that he bought a property in Rhode Island, “about 20 minutes from The Conjuring House.” Rife said he was looking for an area with a good comedy scene, and that with Comedy Connection in East Providence and the area’s proximity to Boston, Rhode Island was a good fit. “I look forward to waking up, seeing the sun coming through my window and the view that I get on a sunny day is just stunning,” Rife said.
The Matt Rife sold-out Holiday Toy Drive Show at the Comedy Connection takes place on Wednesday, December 18th with a show at 7:00pm and 9:30pm. For those attending the show, it will certainly be quite a treat to experience Rife’s performance in an intimate venue like the Comedy Connection vs a concert theater. And thanks to his new home in RI, there will most likely be more to come!
Comedians scheduled to appear at the Comedy Connection include Vic Dibitetto, ISMO and Paul Reiser to name just a few. For the complete schedule visit www.ricomedyconnection.com
